TL;DR: Almost every scheduling tool built for cleaning businesses is priced for a crew. If you work alone, you end up paying for dispatch, GPS tracking, and payroll you will never open. Solo Pro is $30 a month flat, with scheduling, automatic reminders, a booking link, invoicing, and expense tracking included.
Your schedule likely lives in two places right now. Your head, and your notes app.
Mary moved to Thursday. The Pine Street move-out is Friday, or maybe the Friday after. You are fairly sure you told the Alvarez family one o'clock. It works, right up until it does not. One double booking. One drive across town to a house that cancelled two days ago and never told you. One regular who assumed you were coming that you missed.
That is usually the week a cleaner starts searching for scheduling software. Here is what is actually out there, what each tool costs in 2026, and how to pick one that fits a business of one.
The feature lists on these sites are long. Most of it does not apply to you. Six things do.
That last one is where most of this category stops. Hold that thought.
Plenty of working cleaners run on Google Calendar and a notes app, and it is worth being honest about how far that gets you. It is free. It syncs to your phone. It handles recurring events. For your first ten or fifteen clients it is genuinely fine.
Three things break it.
If you are searching for a free scheduling app for a cleaning business, that is the real tradeoff. Free tools schedule. Paid tools remove you from the middle of the scheduling.
In case you’re using Google Calendar right now, Solo Pro has an automatic import function which will instantly pull in all of your client contacts and appointments from Google into your Solo Pro schedule. You don’t have to start over with a blank slate. There’s no manual entry. We do it all for you.
Prices below are list prices for one person. Payment processing fees are separate on every platform here.
The most cleaning-specific tool on this list. The one solo cleaners hear about most. Scheduling, checklists, booking forms, invoicing, and payments, all built around maid services rather than adapted from generic field service software. That focus is real and it shows.
The pricing needs a closer read than the headline suggests. Starter is $19 a month plus $4 per active cleaner, and it caps you at 40 appointments a month. A cleaner doing two jobs a day hits that in the third week. Unlimited appointments start on Zenmaid Pro at $39 a month plus $14 per seat, and SMS messages are billed on top of whichever plan you are on (ZenMaid pricing).
It also does not track expenses or connect to your bank. Supplies, mileage, and product costs live somewhere else, usually QuickBooks or a shoebox.
Good fit if: you have one or two employees and want software built for cleaning specifically.
The default answer on every "best field service software" list, and a legitimately strong platform. Scheduling, quoting, invoicing, client management, and a mobile app that people like using.
It is built around teams. Core starts at $49 a month billed monthly and covers one user. The automation most solo operators actually want, automated client reminders and two-way texting, sits on Connect at $139 a month billed monthly (Jobber pricing). Extra seats are $29 each, which tells you who the pricing model was designed for.
Good fit if: you are building a crew and want room to grow into the platform.
Broad, polished, and popular with home service businesses. Online booking is included across plans, dispatching is strong, and the customer-facing experience is well built. Basic runs $79 a month billed monthly, or $59 annually, for a single user, and Essentials jumps to $189 a month billed monthly (Housecall Pro).
For a one person cleaning business, most of what justifies that price is dispatch and team coordination. Dispatching yourself is not dispatching.
Good fit if: you run a cleaning company with several people in the field.
Booking-first rather than schedule-first. The booking forms are the strongest part: service types, per-bedroom or per-square-foot pricing, add-on selectors, and frequency discounts, all on a page that carries your branding. Starter is $27 a month. SMS reminders and GPS arrive on Growing at $57 (BookingKoala pricing).
It is a booking and marketing platform more than a full business tool. Invoicing and financial tracking are not the point of it.
Good fit if: you are building a cleaning brand with a website and want the booking page to do the selling.
Solo Pro is built for the person who is the business. Not a scaled-down version of crew software. A tool shaped around one cleaner running their own route.
Scheduling works the way you would expect. Recurring jobs, a real calendar, and a shareable booking link so clients request times from your actual availability instead of texting to ask. Automatic reminders go out before every clean, and clients confirm. When plans change, they request a new time on the link rather than calling you at seven in the morning.
Every client gets a record. Notes, job history, tags, outstanding balances, lifetime revenue. You show up knowing the gate code and knowing who still owes you.
It is $30 a month flat. No per-seat pricing, no appointment caps, no add-on fees to unlock the parts you need.
Every tool on this list will tell you what is on your calendar. Almost none of them will tell you what that calendar is worth.
Cleaning burns through supplies on every job. Solutions, cloths, mop heads, vacuum bags, specialty products for different surfaces. Then there is mileage. The IRS standard mileage rate for the second half of 2026 is $0.76 per mile (up from $0.725 from Jan. through June), so a 20 mile round trip between jobs costs $15.20 in vehicle expenses before you have unpacked a thing. Add insurance and the gap between what you charge and what you keep is wider than most cleaners expect.
Solo Pro connects to your bank account through Plaid and pulls in every transaction automatically. Scan a receipt at the supply store and it reads it on the spot. The P&L view shows income against costs in real time, so a week that looks full on the calendar and thin in the bank account stops being a mystery.
If you are still working out what your rates should be in the first place, start with the house cleaning pricing calculator and price from your real costs rather than what the cleaner down the street charges.
Your schedule should not live in your head and your notes app. Solo Pro handles every client, every clean, and every reminder from one place. Start your 7-day free trial and see what a week looks like when the calendar runs itself.
It depends entirely on whether you have employees. For a solo cleaner, Solo Pro at $30 a month flat covers scheduling, reminders, a booking link, invoicing, and expense tracking without team features driving the price up. For a cleaning company with staff, ZenMaid is purpose-built for maid services and Jobber and Housecall Pro are the stronger general platforms. Most "best of" lists rank tools by feature count, which almost always favors the crew software.
Not a good one. Google Calendar is free and handles recurring appointments well, and several booking tools offer limited free tiers. What you give up is client-facing reminders, client records, and self-serve rescheduling, which is the work scheduling software is supposed to remove. Free tools schedule. Paid tools take you out of the middle.
Less than the marketing suggests. Cleaning-specific tools add things like room checklists, key tracking, and tip splitting, which matter when you are managing other people. A solo cleaner mostly needs recurring appointments, reminders, a booking link, and a clear view of what each job costs. What matters more is whether the tool is built for one person or for a crew.
Reminders and a written cancellation policy do most of the work. An automatic reminder 24 hours ahead, with a one-tap confirmation, turns a forgotten appointment into a confirmed one, and gives anyone who needs to move a day to do it while you can still fill the slot. Solo Pro sends reminders before every clean and lets clients request a new time on your booking link instead of calling you the morning of.
With Solo Pro, yes. You share a booking link and clients request a time from your real availability, so you are not fielding a text thread to land on Thursday at nine. Reschedules run through the same link. Jobber, Housecall Pro, and BookingKoala all offer online booking too, though on Jobber and BookingKoala the automated reminder side sits on a higher tier.
Thirty dollars a month, flat. No per-seat fees, no appointment limits, and no add-ons to unlock expense tracking or the P&L view. There is a 7-day free trial so you can put a real week of clients into it before you decide.
